a wahm before the age of computers

i wanted to tell you i have been a work at home mum going back thirty years, my that makes me old. I am 53 and my oldest daughter is 31,25,23 and a young lady i call my daughter as well is 30. When my oldest daughter was six months old i babysat another little girl the same age, it was so fun and did i wear my running shoes. I had a day care of sorts for about seven years till my youngest was in school. I then had my own marketing business this is still well before computers and did cold calling for two companies at a time , i had two contracts. In the morning i solicited home owners for a credit store card and in the afternoon would solicit for a lady looking for leads to show her vaccuum. You can be very inventive if you choose and market and plan. For three years I was a private care LPN providing shift care nursing in a patients home or hospital. For the last three years since my car accident I have been fortunate to find contract work for a virtual assistant at various times, making cold calls for the client, or accepting incoming calls and providing the after hour support. At this time I am expanding my horizons agian and learning about web development and networking. To expand my list of customers and to relate with other wahm. Each day I plan on what sites I am going to contact or revamp an idea that the first time possibly did not work out. The opportunities for working at home are endless and for me, a chance to excell and to turn my disability into an ability. No one ever said it was going to be easy , or that people would be knocking down doors with their money. You have to believe in yourself and your dream and committing to your work. One may choose your own hours ,smiles and chuckles at that one, but it is the hard work of hours every day that bring in results. I am just pleased at the end of the day, and look back at the contacts I have made, or a site or product to investigate at a later time and bookmarked it. Who would ever think , me a grandmother who less than eight years ago was afraid to turn on a computer. Never underestimate the power and the determination of a woman. Learning gives you power to succeed, I do believe honestly where there is a will, there is a way

so how one might go about doing just that...
reminding him or her how special she is...
leaving sweet messages on his email or voice mail..
planning something special for the two of you..even a dinner for two at home and the children with a relative or friend
...chocolates are always nice.
...or a special wine
...flowers
...a picture of the two of you
...or something classic such as a home video of a special time.
a gift that is from the heart or just what was a whim.

but dont leave it till the last minute or two the gas station for the last red wilted rose.
